sabbatical update

It has been a while since I posted due to the crazy times we now find ourselves dealing with. The sabbatical has gone well. I added two new projects. One is the audio rescue/restoration for the dialogue of the short independent film Madhouse. Somehow the audio files were mixed up and I edited the audio from the camera instead of the boom mic. Not so good, but I did my best. Later, I discovered the original boom mic audio and was able to do a decent sounding rescue. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. I continue work on the piece for orchestra and choir, Montserrat, and have made good progress. It will probably take most of the summer to complete as it is a large scale work. The piano trio is on hold until we get the ‘all clear’ and a first performance can be scheduled. I also entered into another collaboration with the Sarah Council Dance Project called ‘Shift’ that involves my music and sound design, Sarah’s choreography, and a poet. Shift was scheduled for premiere in April 2020 but had to be put on hold until restrictions on live performances with audiences present are lifted. This is not exactly how I thought my sabbatical would go, but I am still pleased with my progress on planned projects and new undertakings. More as it develops.
