My latest chamber work, Successions, is now complete and rehearsals for the premiere start soon. Successions was written for, and will be premiered by the Bechtler Ensemble. The Bechtler Ensemble is the ensemble in residence at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art in Charlotte, NC. Successions was written in reaction to Jean Tinguely’s kinetic sculpture titled “Santana”. Successions is dedicated to the life and work of Jean Tinguely. Successions will be premiered on May 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gettys Center for the Arts in Rock Hill, SC along with new works by composers Craig Bove, Leonard Mark Lewis, John Allrmeier, and Zach Zubow. There will be a second performance on the same day at 6:00 p.m. atthe Bechtler Museum of Modern Art amid an exhibition of Tinguely’s work. The Bechtler Museum concert will also feature dance. A third performance will take place at Queens University in Charlotte, NC on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. All three concerts will feature maestro Alan Yamamoto conducting. If you are in the Charlotte region I hope to see you at one or more of these events.
Special thanks for support from the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, the Arts Council of York County, and Queens University of Charlotte. These events would not be possible without their support.
