Hello… It has been a while… As I mentioned in my last post COVID-19 has really disrupted my live performances. I did have a virtual performance of my orchestral piece Torque as part of the 2021 Society of Composers, Inc. National Conference, but live performances remain elusive.
My new piano trio is still in progress with no firm premiere date set yet. I continue work on it and will post updates. In the meantime I have been restoring recordings and scores of several of my early works. I posted audio recordings for In the Wake of Autumn for piano, Initiation Song of the Midewiwin for tenor and piano, and Music For Winds, Strings, and Piano for chamber ensemble. In the Wake of Autumn was my first composition for solo piano and was brilliantly performed by pianist John Root. The lyrics for Initiation Song of the Midewiwin are an English adaptation of chants for initiation rites of the Midewiwin. The recording features tenor Loren Mott. Music for Winds, Strings, and Piano was commissioned by the North Carolina School of the Arts International Music Program and was performed throughout Europe as part of the IMP tour. This recording is from a performance in Germany. All three recordings are noisy (2 track analog in noisy halls), but the performances are solid.
I also posted an engraved score for In the Wake of Autumn on my Scores page. Scores for Initiation Song of the Midewiwin and Music for Winds, Strings, and Piano are available in manuscript on request, but won’t be posted until they are engraved.
