Concentrix studio 1

Today was a productive and fun day in the recording studio. Members of the Bechtler Ensemble with guest pianist Tomoko Deguchi recorded my piece Reflections and Lore at Concentrix studios in Charlotte, NC. It was great working with Fred Story, Creative Director at Concentrix (and all round good guy). Fred and his team do great work! If anyone in the Charlotte area finds themselves in need of recording, film scoring, or sound design, contact Fred. I highly recommend Fred and Concentrix.

The recording session went well thanks to the fantastic musicians under the leadership and baton of conductor Alan Yamamoto. The musicians included Peter DeVries – violin I, Kari Giles – violin II, Matthew Darcey – viola, Tanja Bechtler – cello, Tom Hildreth – bass, and Tomoko Deguchi – piano. This recording is part of a larger project to record and release on CD all of the pieces written for the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art in Charlotte. The CD will also feature works by Craig Bove, Leonard Mark Lewis, and John Allemeier. Look for updates regarding the upcoming CD release as the project progresses.
