My new piano trio (violin, cello, piano) is completed and the premiere is set for January 15, 2023 at 7:30 pm as part of the Providence Chamber Music Series in Charlotte, NC. The performance will feature the Out of Bounds Ensemble with Tatiana Karpova – violin, Oksana McCarthy – cello, and Tomoko Deguchi – piano. The score is available on my SCORES page. The performance will be documented and I will post the video and audio as soon as they are available. The inspiration for Motion comes from my fascination with the inner workings of mechanical devices such as watches or automated robotic manufacturing. While there is constant cyclical movement between multiple components the overall mechanism does not move. Motion is my take on this sort of mechanics realized in music.
