My latest composition, Reflections and Lore, for string quartet and piano, will be premiered by the combined forces of the Bechtler Ensemble and the Out of Bounds Ensemble on January 25, 2015 at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art in Charlotte, NC USA. There will be a repeat performance at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC USA on February 1, 2015. Reflections and Lore is based on the Firebird sculpture by Niki de Saint Phalle which sits at the entrance of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art in uptown Charlotte, NC USA. I have explored the myths surrounding the Firebird and I plan to integrate the narrative of these myths into Reflections and Lore. More soon…
