Jazz and jazz fusion has been an important part of my musical life since I was a teenager. I played bass in a jazz and jazz fusion quartet called The Nomads before I went to college to study composition. Most of my early compositions were either for my progressive rock band Aria or were jazz lead sheets. Jazz has certainly informed my recent music as evidenced in pieces such as my piano trio Things Get Out of Hand. I have recently revisited jazz composition. I wrote several lead sheets for my friend and colleague Dr. L.H. Dickert. LH has arranged some of these lead sheets for his jazz guitar ensemble and has included them on concerts. I have added several of the lead sheets I wrote for LH to my Scores page under the heading of JAZZ LEAD SHEETS. I am in the process of creating studio renderings of these lead sheets and I will post them to my audio page soon.
